TAMPA, FL, 5th grade, Carrollwood Day School comments: Our favorite part of your video...
Colin - watching the kids share all of their feelings about being homeless Caroline - when the boy said he put his clothes under his pillow Savannah - you get to see real people facing homelessness Kelsie - how the boy laid his clothes under his pillow ~ to me it seemed they are so much smarter than us. (I would have never thought to do that) Chloe - was when the children where talking about what they did with their pets when they became homeless Lindsey - when the kids were talking about their dream jobs Haley - when the boy told about how he folded his clothes and put them under his pillow so they looked ironed the next day Matthew - it's sad when the boy said that his parents left him ~ they should not have left him Sam - the boy putting his clothes under his pillow so no one would notice that he was homeless Brycie - when the boy said that he laid his clothes under his pillow so they looked ironed Katie - when the kids talked about how it felt to be homeless Cole - when the girl was saying she wanted to be in the army and fight for our country Thomas - was the girl wanting to finish school and go to college Ryan - the information because it was helpful for our project Mrs. Monty - being able to bring my students face to face with children who have experienced being homeless (or are currently experiencing being homeless). You made it possible for me to do something for my students that I couldn't do myself. Thanks for bringing faces to this issue.
New York Presentations (NYS-TEACHS/NYSED)(March 2007)
- The video/DVD - wonderful - very effective - gave an inside perspective - from the children. Excellent. What a wonderful journey!
- The documentary was very informative! Excellent!
- The video brought awareness about how difficult it is for homeless children. It also showed how hopeful these kids are in spite of their homelessness.
- Video was very good & touching. Refreshing to see homeless youth/children issues looked at from a suburban/rural perspective, as many only look at it as an urban issue.
